Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 23 April 2026
1. About DirectorLenz
DirectorLenz (“we”, “us”, “our”, the “Provider”) is a data aggregation service operated by Sterling Financial Planning Limited, a company registered in England & Wales. We provide self-service due-diligence reports for UK mortgage brokers and other professional users. DirectorLenz is a data aggregation tool. It does not provide regulated financial, legal, or lending advice.
By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full. If you disagree with any part, do not use the service.
Change of Provider. The DirectorLenz service may be transferred to a successor entity within the same corporate group on 30 days' written notice (delivered by email to registered users and/or by on-site notice). Your account, credit balance, and generated reports transfer to the successor. These Terms remain in force with the successor entity substituted as the Provider.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age and acting in a professional or business capacity to use DirectorLenz. Personal or consumer use is not permitted. By registering you confirm that you have the authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of yourself or your organisation.
3. Credits and Payments
Access to report generation requires purchasing credits. Credits are non-refundable except where a report generation fails — in that case, credits are automatically refunded to your account balance.
Credits do not expire. Unused credits remain on your account indefinitely. Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment processor. We do not store card details.
The Provider is not currently registered for UK VAT. Prices quoted on our website are the amounts you pay — no VAT is added at checkout. Should the Provider become VAT-registered in the future, we will notify registered users at least 30 days before any pricing change takes effect.
4. Data Sources — Companies House
DirectorLenz retrieves company and officer information from Companies House, a public register maintained by His Majesty's Government. This information is publicly available and is used under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
We do not warrant that data from Companies House is free from errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Companies House data reflects filings made by registered companies and may not reflect current circumstances. You are responsible for verifying any data before relying on it for commercial decisions.
5. Data Sources — HM Land Registry
Property title and charge information is sourced from HM Land Registry, a government department of His Majesty's Government. This information is used under the Open Government Licence v3.0 and reflects the Land Register as of the date of retrieval.
Land Registry data may not reflect unregistered land, recent transactions not yet reflected in the register, or equitable interests. DirectorLenz does not warrant the completeness of property data.
6. Automated Valuation Models (AVM) — Non-Reliance
Some reports include property valuations produced by Automated Valuation Model (“AVM”) technology. AVM valuations are indicative estimates only. They are not appraisals, surveyor valuations, or regulated opinions of value.
You must not rely on AVM valuations for lending, transactional, or investment decisions. AVM figures carry inherent uncertainty; the actual market value of a property may differ materially from any AVM estimate. DirectorLenz accepts no liability for decisions made on the basis of AVM data.
7. Permitted Use
You may use DirectorLenz reports solely for lawful professional due-diligence purposes. You must not:
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense report outputs without our prior written consent.
- Use the service to harvest or scrape data at scale beyond your purchased credits.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or disrupt the service.
- Use the service in any way that violates applicable law, including UK GDPR and the Data Use and Access Act 2025.
8. Intellectual Property
The DirectorLenz platform, software, brand, and all non-public-record content within reports are owned by the Provider. Public-record data (Companies House, Land Registry) is reproduced under Open Government Licence v3.0 and remains the property of the Crown.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Provider shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunity.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to this agreement shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Data Retention
We retain your account data and generated report PDFs for as long as your account is active and for a period of 6 years thereafter, in accordance with standard UK commercial data retention practices and HMRC record-keeping requirements.
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (see section 11). Upon account deletion we will anonymise or erase personal data within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations.
11. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
As a data subject under UK GDPR and the Data Use and Access Act 2025 you have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Erasure: request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Restriction: request that we restrict processing of your personal data.
- Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Object: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at legal@directorlenz.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
